Dr Clément Charenton is a biochemist and structural biologist at the Institut de Génétique et de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire in Strasbourg, France. 

His research group, aims to determine how the spliceosome carries out pre-mRNA splicing without making errors.

To that aim, they use an in vitro system to isolate the human spliceosome when it recognizes the sequences to eliminate from mRNAs, in order to study its composition and structure.
