Dr. Lakshmi Mehta is a Clinical Geneticist at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.

She is an experienced clinician and educator, having trained many geneticists and genetic counselors.  

Dr. Mehta’s clinical research focuses on rare genetic disorders, gene discovery, and elaborating the phenotype and natural history of these conditions.

She is active in committees and workgroups of the American College of Medical Genetics and presents regularly at national meetings. 

She is currently a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Clinical Genetics at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
